Incomplete list of those who I am on good terms with, know well, or
both.
Characters
- Sacha Chua (aka sachac) [website]
- Emacs hacker, technology
evangelist, and writer of short stories.
- Max Hapner [blog]
- F/OSS enthusiast and PLUG member. We enjoyed
many a calzone while discussing the merits of various Free Software
programs. I have more respect for KDE than I previously had as a
result of these discussions.
- Luke Hoersten [blog, website]
- PLUG President in 2005-2006 and
2007-2008 (and Secretary of War 2005-2007).
- Pat Finnegan [Pat's Computer Refuge]
- PLUG advisor. Told me I
should apply at RCAC. Donor of many fine machines to PLUG.
- Steve McGinnis
- Friend from middle school and high school. We share
an interest in computers and programming calculators. He is a
networking expert and has taken first place in a national
Cisco-sponsored competition. For a while he hosted my website on a
computer with Red Hat 9, but I ended up switching to HCoop after a
while.
- Christian Naylor [website]
- Friend from PLUG. We shared quite a few
anime titles second semester of my 3rd year of college.
- David O'Toole [website]
- Friend from
#emacs and ##metaconference who
wants to make Emacs Lisp an even more kick-ass programming language
than it currently is, by means of a library with select Common Lisp
like tools.
- Daniel Palacio
- Friend from PLUG, and its President in 2006-2007. I
drove him around a lot since he didn't have a car. We hacked on his
Sony Vaio together and managed to get a pretty decent Debian
GNU/Linux installation.
- Andrew Shaw [Xanga Site]
- Roommate and friend from my Sophomore
year, second semester. He introduced me to the noble pastime of
watching anime. We went to several ACEN anime conferences together
- Mike Shuey [website]
- One of my bosses at RCAC. Fellow anime buff.
Collector of moist towelettes. Purveyor of humorous quotes.
- Ryan Stutsman (aka strfryed) [website]
- Friend who goes back to
my BCLUG days. We met during the first BCLUG meeting. He is the
one I have to thank for notifying me that I cannot easily get into
grad school with a CS degree from Bethel. He was my project partner
in CS240 at Purdue, which involved collaboration using GNU Arch and
dealing with lame Solaris 8 quirks.
- John Sullivan [website]
- Current maintainer of Planner Mode and
fellow
#emacs channel person. Works for the FSF.
- Greg Veldman [website]
- Fellow RCAC employee and former CSociety
Vice President. He helped me to get the job at RCAC.
- Jamie Wiegandt [website]
- Math buff at Purdue. Helped to keep me
sane in French class Junior year. Avid Mac OS X user, which led to
many a friendly flame war ;^) .
- John Wiegley (aka johnw) [website]
- Started pcomplete,
Projects: Emacs Wiki Mode, Projects: Emacs Muse, and other programming
ventures.
- Kyle Worden
- Friend from way back. We went to the same elementary,
middle, and high schools. We both attended Bethel when he was a
freshman and I was a sophomore. A beekeeper, among other things.
- Alex Younts [website]
- Friend from work and Csociety president who
made owning a C parking pass way more tolerable.
